Delivering Joy: A Successful Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive

At Nucar Toyota of North Kingstown, we believe that the holidays are a time for community, connection, and spreading joy to those who need it most. We are thrilled to share the success of our recent Nucar Cares initiative supporting the Children’s Friend Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our neighbors, customers, and staff, we were able to come together to make this holiday season a little brighter for children across Rhode Island.

A Historic Partner: About Children’s Friend

To understand the impact of this drive, it helps to understand the incredible organization behind it. We didn’t just partner with anyone; we partnered with a pillar of Rhode Island history.

Children’s Friend is the state’s oldest child welfare agency, with roots going back nearly 200 years. Founded in Providence in 1834, the organization began as a home for abandoned and abused children and has since evolved into an innovative leader dedicated to improving the well-being of our most vulnerable young children.

Their approach is distinct because it is family-centered and seamless. They don’t just provide temporary aid; they work collaboratively to discover each family’s needs and offer integrated services—from early childhood education to foster care and family support—to help them thrive. When you donate to Children’s Friend, you are supporting a legacy of advocacy and care that has been strengthening Rhode Island families for generations.

Fulfilling Wishes with a Truckload of Toys

This season, we invited our community to help us “fill the Tacoma” with new, unwrapped toys, and the response was nothing short of amazing.

Teaming up with our friends at 92 PRO-FM and Lite 105, we turned our showroom into a hub of holiday cheer. It was heartwarming to watch the truck bed pile high with dolls, games, and gifts, each one representing a smile for a local child on Christmas morning.

The Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive is unique because Children’s Friend is actively involved with every family who benefits. Because of their deep, year-round connection with these families, they can ensure that these gifts go to children who are already receiving their wrap-around support, making the holiday joy a part of a larger, positive impact in their lives.
